Quick Fixes
If there is issues with Printing here is some quick fixes that might help get the printer back to printing
Printer is Offline
- Restart your computer.
- If the printer is turned on, check your internet connection in case there was a issue with your connection
- You can see if your computer has a internet connection by checking the icon in the bottom right-hand corner. This symbol is if you have a wired connection and this symbol is if you have a wireless connection
- This symbol is what shows when you have no connection
- Check if the printer itself is turned on.
- If after restarting your computer does not fix the issue the next thing to try is to remove the printer from the computer and re-add it.
- Go to Settings>Devices>Printers & Scanners
- Once in Printers & Scanners, find the printer in question then click on it and click Remove Device
- With the printer removed, follow the How to add Printer guide to add the printer back to your computer
Printer is not Printing
- Firstly check that when you are printing, you are printing to the correct printer.
- If it is the correct printer check to the print queue to see if there is a large amount of print jobs ahead of you
- You can find the print queue by going to Control Panel>Hardware & Sound> Devices & Printers
- Once at Devices & Printers you will want to right-click the printer in question and select See what's printing
- If there wasn't a huge queue of print jobs what you will want to try next is to remove and add the printer back to your computer.
- You can do this by following Step 4 from the previous guide above
Almost all these steps can be applied to most scenarios that happen with printers not working as they should
