How to Install VLC Media Player

The following guide is a step by step procedure on how to install the VLC Media viewer for audio/video playback on the PC.

1. The VLC Media software can be found on the L: Drive, more specifically, L:\IT Dept\Software. It can also be found on the Flash Drive in both folder New Public PC and New Staff PC and then under VLC Media Player
2. Open the VLC Media Player folder
3. Launch the install software
   • For staff, this may prompt you for an admin user name and password, use the following:
     • User Name: download
     • Password: Library4ever
4. Select your language preference and then click ok
5. On the next pop up, click next
6. On the next pop up, click next
   • This screen should be the License Agreement
7. Choose Components screen
   • Use the default selection that they have, then click next
8. Choose where you want to install the files
   • Choose the default path, click install
9. When installation is finished, you will have the option to launch VLC. Check or uncheck the box, and then click finish
